Crushing Those Tough Days

June 06, 20233 min read

Throughout your decluttering journey, you will undoubtedly run into problems along the way that will stop you from moving forward. In this most recent podcast, I got the chance to have a solo talk about managing tasks, learning to control overwhelming feelings, and realizing the connection between the brain and clutter that will equip you with a sufficient understanding of the best approach for you to take.

Know what’s best for you!

I have to admit that in my situation, the last-minute finishing method works best for me. I know your first thought is, "But you're an organizer, should you really be doing that? ”

Yes! And why not?

BUT…

It might not work for you, but it works for me! Knowing your own strengths and weaknesses is another aspect of this approach. I am aware that I perform best under pressure. To stay motivated and focused, I need deadlines and time restrictions. Although this may not be the case for everyone, by sorting out what works for you, you can position yourself for success. Play with your strengths! By relying on that habit, I am able to function, stay productive, and successfully accomplish things.

Keep cool

In my case, I am already aware that I work better under pressure, but that doesn't mean I'm immune to the fear and stress that come with deadlines. It's easy to just start panicking about whether we have everything in place whenever we feel like the deadline is near. We anxiously ask ourselves right away "Did I forget to do something?" or "What did I forget to do?" This kind of dilemma can quickly spiral out of control, making us lose our focus and stopping us from getting our work done.

So, what can we do to alleviate this anxiety and feel better about our approaching deadlines? In my case, I discovered that taking a step back and doing some breathing exercises helped me to feel calmer and more in control.

The Mindset

What I cover in my program also delves into mindset work, and this was a big thing for me because I discovered that my mind was becoming extremely irate, frustrated, and annoyed with myself. I felt like I couldn't accomplish anything because there were so many different negative emotions rising. I simply take a step back, convinced everything will work out. It's important to remain conscious of our mindset, how we talk to ourselves about situations when they simply feel like they are spiralling out of control, and how we handle them

Clutter takes up space!

It’s important to keep in mind that clutter doesn’t only accumulate physical space. When you're going through decluttering, it really changes your emotions. Your brain changes and your thoughts change. Decluttering will help you intuitively organize because it's releasing all this clutter, it's releasing all this unnecessary stuff. The brain has finally GOT SPACE.

Complete Declutter & Cleaning Guide

This guide is not a one-size-fits-all approach to decluttering.

Instead, it's a guide that recognizes the individuality of your journey. It empowers you to declutter your life in a way that's not just practical but also deeply meaningful.

You don't need to conform to someone else's vision of minimalism; you can create your vision—one that reflects who you are and who you want to become.
